Mississippi Car Crashes
A car crash can be an overwhelming and devastating experience. Suffering serious injuries in any scenario can land an individual in the hospital for a prolonged period, where they must undergo invasive and expensive medical care. Having to spend time stuck in the hospital, unable to work, and away from your loved ones can be too much for anyone to handle. Especially when that time stuck in the hospital is costing you a fortune. The majority of car crashes in the United States are caused by the actions of negligent drivers. Negligent driving has been at the top of the list of things that cause auto collisions in the United States for decades.
Several different forms of negligent driving exist, including intoxication, speeding, distraction, and fatigue. The statistics that stem from these types of negligent driving are alarming. For example, over 400,000 car crashes happen each year caused by the actions of negligent drivers. Fatigued driving causes over 100,000 collisions, while more than 11,000 people are killed annually due to the actions of speeding drivers.
Each year, about 6 million car wrecks are reported throughout the United States. According to information provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Association, more than 90% of car crashes in the United States are caused by negligent driving. This means that negligent drivers cause about 5 million crashes per year.
