Oxford, MS (September 25, 2021) – At 12:15 p.m. on the afternoon of Saturday, September 25, a car accident occurred on a roadway in Oxford.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident happened at 400 Merchants Drive around the area of the local Ross Dress for Less. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they suddenly collided with one another due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles were badly damaged and had to be removed from the scene by tow trucks.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were injured in the collision. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked for an extended period of time. This led to delays for some time until police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
