Tupelo, MS (November 21, 2021) – Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office say that an 18-wheeler accident occurred on the interstate Sunday evening, November 21, and resulted in injuries.
Authorities say the wreck happened when an 18-wheeler and another vehicle crashed shortly after 11:30 pm. in the northbound lanes of State Route 23, close to the Mantachie/Mooreville exit and Gann Road.
EMS units appeared to transport at least one person from the scene. It’s unclear if any other victims were injured in the collision.
Troopers with the Mississippi Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the LCSO, are investigating the crash. They have not released further details at this time.
