Brooksville, MS (November 17, 2021) – Around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, November 17, a fatal truck accident occurred in Brooksville.
According to Noxubee County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of MS-45 and MS-388. Two large trucks were traveling in the area when the truck carrying cotton crossed the highway, slamming into the truck carrying logs. The accident was a T-bone accident that led to severe damages during periods of fog.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One of the truck drivers, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. It is not known if anyone was injured in the accident.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time as police cleared the scene.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol and Noxubee County Sheriff’s Office continue their investigation into the accident.
