Southaven, MS (November 10, 2021) – At 5:38 p.m. on the evening of Wednesday, November 10, a multi-vehicle crash occurred on a highway in Southaven.
According to DeSoto officials, the accident happened on I-55 around the area of exit 287, Church Road. Several vehicles were traveling in the area on the highway when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged and had to be removed from the scene by tow trucks.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured in the collision. The injured parties, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time. Police quickly worked to reopen the roadway.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
