Richland, MS (December 15, 2021) – Around 3:25 p.m. on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 14, a car accident with injuries occurred in Richland.
According to Richland officials, the accident happened at the intersection of I-55 and I-20. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they allegedly entered the intersection at the same time. This caused the vehicles to forcefully collide with one another. The vehicles were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing.
