Hernando, MS (December 18, 2021) – On Saturday, December 18, a multi-vehicle crash with injuries occurred on a major highway in Hernando.
According to Hernando officials, the accident happened on I-269 around the area of Getwell Road. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles, which were traveling in the northbound lanes at the time, were extensively damaged as a result of the accident. They were towed from the scene due to their damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
