Byhalia, MS (December 28, 2021) – Around 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning, December 28, a man was seriously injured in a truck crash at an intersection in Byhalia.
According to officials, the accident happened at the intersection of MS-302 and MS-309. A 64-year-old man named Larry Bass was traveling through the intersection in his Mack truck when it collided with an Impala being driven by 44-year-old Ryan Dunn. One of the vehicles was trying to make a left turn at the time. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Bass was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Dunn was not injured but remained at the scene.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing at this time.
