Oxford, MS (January 4, 2022) – At 4 p.m. on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 4, a multi-vehicle collision with injuries occurred on a roadway in Oxford.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident happened at 1448 South Lamar Boulevard around the area of the local Texaco. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to collide with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Numerous responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were seriously injured as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of unknown injuries.
A large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for some time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
