Oxford, MS (January 6, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car crash on a roadway in Oxford near a high school on Thursday evening, January 6.
Oxford Police Department officials confirmed that the accident happened at 101 Charger Loop at 5 p.m. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area in front of the Oxford High School when one collided with the other due to reasons that are not yet known. The involved vehicles sustained heavy damages as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were injured as a result of the collision. The injured parties were hospitalized, though their current conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the high school for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
