Oxford, MS (January 8, 2022) – Several people were injured in a car accident on a roadway in Oxford on the night of Thursday, January 6.
The Oxford Police Department confirmed that the accident happened at 8:20 p.m. on the night of 396 Price Street during periods of icy storms in the area. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided forcefully with each other due to reasons that are not entirely known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were injured as a result of the collision. The injured victims were hospitalized, though their identities and conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
