Starkville, MS (January 8, 2022) – At 10:17 a.m. on Saturday morning, January 8, an injury accident occurred at an intersection in Starkville.
Starkville Police confirmed that the accident happened in the morning hours at the intersection of MS-12 and Aspen Road. Several vehicles were traveling in the area in the Greenoaks subdivision when they entered the intersection at the same time, causing the vehicles to collide with each other. The involved vehicles were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were injured due to the accident. The injured parties, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene. Police urged those in the area to find an alternate route as the scene was cleared.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
