Oxford, MS (January 11, 2022) – On Tuesday afternoon, January 11, an injury accident occurred at an intersection in Oxford.
Oxford Police confirmed that the collision happened at the intersection of Jackson Avenue and Heritage Drive in the afternoon hours. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when it is alleged that they entered the intersection at the same time. This caused the vehicles to forcefully collide with each other, which led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the collision, a large portion of the roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
