Petal, MS (January 16, 2022) – On Saturday night, January 15, a car accident with injuries occurred at an intersection in Petal.
Mississippi Highway Patrol officials confirmed that the crash took place at the intersection of Macedonia Road and Sunrise Road. Several vehicles were allegedly traveling in the area when they collided with each other after entering the intersection. One of the vehicles, identified as a white pickup truck, was severely damaged in the accident.
Numerous responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. An ambulance was on the scene and one or more victims were taken to hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the collision, a portion of the roadway was blocked at the intersection. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
