Vicksburg, MS (January 27, 2022) – Around 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening, January 26, a head-on collision took place on a roadway in Vicksburg.
According to Warren County officials, the accident happened on Oak Ridge Road. Police confirmed that a GMC Arcadia AUV was headed north while a Ford F-250 was headed south in the area. The vehicles collided head-on when one of the vehicles lost control. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged due to the accident.
Several responders, including Vicksburg paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was identified as a 57-year-old man, who was the only person in the vehicle at the time. The SUV was being operated by a 16-year-old with a 12-year-old passenger and a 13-year-old passenger. All of the parties received various injuries and were taken to separate hospitals for treatment.
Due to the severity of the collision, a large portion of the roadway was blocked for some time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
