Oxford, MS (January 30, 2022) – One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of a car accident that took place in Oxford on Friday afternoon, January 28.
Oxford Police responded to the scene around 12:25 p.m. The crash allegedly happened at 2530 Jackson Avenue in the westbound lanes of traffic in front of the local Walmart. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their identities and conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the road was blocked in the area for some time.
