Vicksburg, MS (February 2, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a two-vehicle collision that happened at an intersection in Vicksburg on Wednesday, February 2.
According to Vicksburg Police, the accident happened around 3:40 p.m. at the intersection of Haining Road and North Washington Street. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, forcefully colliding with each other. One of the vehicles sustained severe damages and caught on fire due to the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Everybody was able to self-extricate from the vehicles. One victim in the accident was rushed to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
Due to the severity of the collision, the intersection was blocked in both directions for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
