Oxford, MS (February 4, 2022) – On Thursday evening, February 3, a car crash with injuries took place on a roadway in Oxford.
Oxford Police responded to the scene around 5:55 p.m. at 2000 Heritage Drive in front of the Lexington Pointe Apartments. According to officials, the accident happened when several vehicles were traveling in the area and forcefully collided with each other due to reasons that are not entirely known. It is believed that one of the vehicles possibly lost control. This led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the collision. The injured parties were hospitalized, though their identities and conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
