Oxford, MS (February 5, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car crash that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Friday night, February 4.
Oxford Police confirmed that the collision happened on South 18th Street. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not fully known. It is believed that one or more of the vehicles lost control, which led to the accident. The damaged vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their identities and conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the collision, a large portion of the roadway was blocked for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
