Vicksburg, MS (February 10, 2022) – Around 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday morning, February 9, a truck accident with injuries occurred at an intersection in Vicksburg.
According to Vicksburg Police, the collision happened at the intersection of Veto Street and Washington Street. A city truck was traveling in the area when it drove into the intersection, causing it to strike the side of a black sedan. The vehicles involved in the accident sustained damages but were quickly moved.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Several victims sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their identities and conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time. Police urged those in the area to avoid the intersection for some time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
