Oxford, MS (February 11, 2022) – On Friday morning, February 11, a car crash with injuries happened on a roadway in Oxford.
Oxford Police confirmed that the collision happened at 10:10 a.m. at 2530 Jackson Avenue in front of Walmart. Several vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes when they suddenly collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the collision, all westbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time. Police worked to quickly clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
