Oxford, MS (February 17, 2022) – On Wednesday evening, February 16, a car crash with injuries occurred on a roadway in Oxford.
Oxford Police confirmed that the accident happened at 7:10 p.m. at 415 South 5th Street in front of St. Johns Catholic Church. Several vehicles were allegedly traveling in the area when they suddenly collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked in front of the church for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
