Booneville, MS (February 26, 2022) – One person was killed in a fatal car crash at an intersection in Booneville on Thursday evening, February 24.
According to Mississippi Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened at the intersection of CR-8050 and MS-145. Three vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection simultaneously, causing them to forcefully collide with one another. The vehicles involved in the accident sustained severe damages as a result of the collision.
Several responders, including local paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. It is not known if anyone else was hurt in the collision.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues. Police will update with more information as it becomes available.
