Aberdeen, MS (February 26, 2022) – On Saturday, February 26, a woman was killed in a fatal car accident that took place on a roadway in Aberdeen.
According to Monroe County officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of MS-45 around 1 p.m. Police confirmed that 58-year-old Denise Howell Miller was traveling north in the area when her vehicle collided with an SUV due to reasons that are not fully known. The accident led to extensive damages to both vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Miller was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to multiple traumatic injuries. It is not known if anybody inside the SUV was hurt.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
