Oxford, MS (March 1, 2022) – One or more parties were injured in a car crash that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Monday evening, February 28.
Oxford Police confirmed that the accident happened at 6 p.m. at 2405 Anderson Road at the Retreat at Oxford student housing. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
