Attala County, MS (March 4, 2022) – A man was killed in a fatal car accident on an unidentified area in Attala County on Wednesday night, March 2.
According to Mississippi Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened around 8:30 p.m. in the Sallis area. Police confirmed that three vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result of the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person involved in the accident, identified as 34-year-old Yartney Greer, was traumatically injured and pronounced dead at the scene. One person was taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues. Police will update as more information becomes available.
