Oxford, MS (March 5, 2022) – On Saturday afternoon, March 5, a car accident with injuries took place on a roadway in Oxford.
According to Oxford Police, the accident happened at 2:35 p.m. at 2130 Jackson Avenue in front of Anytime Fitness Center. Multiple vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes of traffic when they suddenly collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the collision were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other Oxford responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their identities and conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked in multiple lanes for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
