Vicksburg, MS (March 7, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car crash that took place at an intersection in Vicksburg on Sunday morning, March 6.
Vicksburg Police confirmed that the accident happened in the early morning hours at the intersection of US-61 and Iowa Boulevard. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, forcefully colliding with one another. The vehicles allegedly collided in the southbound lanes.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals but are expected to recover.
The roadway was blocked in multiple lanes for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
