Starkville, MS (March 9, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car crash that took place at an intersection in Starkville on Wednesday afternoon, March 9.
According to Starkville officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Whitfield Street and Avenue of Patriots. Starkville Police confirmed that the accident happened around 2:04 p.m. when two vehicles entered the intersection at the same time, colliding with one another. The involved vehicles sustained heavy damages as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other Starkville responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their identities and conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time. This led to delays in the area until police were able to fully clear the scene.
