Oxford, MS (March 11, 2022) – On Thursday morning, March 10, a car accident with injuries occurred on a major roadway in Oxford.
According to Oxford Police, the accident happened at 419 US-278. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes of traffic around the area of Waller Funeral Home when they suddenly collided due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other Oxford responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
