Oxford, MS (March 14, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a multi-vehicle collision that took place on a major roadway in Oxford on Monday evening, March 14.
According to Oxford Police, the accident happened around 6:35 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Highway 30. Police confirmed that two or more vehicles were traveling in the eastbound lanes of traffic when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles involved in the accident sustained heavy damages and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other Oxford responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained serious injuries and were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their identities and conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
