Starkville, MS (March 16, 2022) – At 11:17 p.m. on Tuesday night, March 15, an injury accident took place at an intersection in Starkville.
According to Starkville Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Jackson Street and Womack Street. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they allegedly entered the intersection at the same time, causing them to forcefully collide with one another. The involved vehicles were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries in the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the intersection. Police urged those in the area to use caution for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues. Police will update with more information as it becomes available.
