Redwood, MS (March 19, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a rollover car accident that took place on a major roadway in Redwood on Saturday, March 19.
According to Vicksburg Police, the accident happened in the afternoon hours in the northbound lanes of US-61 around the area of Redwood Road. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when one lost control, causing them to forcefully collide with each other. One of the vehicles rolled over but both sustained heavy damages as a result.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries due to the collision. The injured parties were hospitalized, though they are expected to recover.
Due to the severity of the collision, all lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing. Police will update as more information becomes available.
