Kiln, MS (March 19, 2022) – One person was critically injured in a rear-end collision that took place on a highway in Kiln, Mississippi.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 1:20 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-10 around mile marker 8 and the Louisiana state line. Police confirmed that a passenger pickup truck was traveling in the area when the driver suddenly collided with the rear of a camper due to reasons that are not yet known. The damages to both vehicles were extensive.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the pickup truck, who has not yet been identified, was rushed to a local hospital with critical injuries. The victim was rushed to the hospital by medical helicopter.
Due to the severity of the collision, multiple lanes of traffic were blocked for some time. Police urged those in the area to find an alternate route.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
