Oxford, MS (March 20, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car accident that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Sunday evening, March 20.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident happened around 5:45 p.m. at 2994 Old Taylor Road in front of the local Dollar General. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Several victims sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could resume as normal.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues. Police will update with more information as it is available.
