Vicksburg, MS (March 20, 2022) – Around 9 a.m. on Sunday morning, March 20, a fatal industrial workplace accident took place in Vicksburg.
According to Vicksburg officials, the accident happened in the rock yard off of Dorsey Street and Waterview Casino. Police have not determined the exact circumstances of the accident but they confirmed that the incident took place on the water and the Coast Guard was called to the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The employee, who has only been identified as an adult male, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. No other employees were hurt in the accident.
The area was blocked off for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing. Police will update as more information is available.
