Oxford, MS (April 3, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a car accident that took place on a major roadway in Oxford on Sunday evening, April 3.
According to Oxford Police, the accident happened around 7:31 p.m. on University Avenue. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to forcefully collide with one another. The vehicles involved in the accident sustained severe damage and had to be towed from the scene.
Several responders, including local paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hurt in the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
