Oxford, MS (April 9, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a car accident that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Saturday night, April 9.
According to Oxford Police, the accident happened around 9:05 p.m. at 2601 Jackson Avenue. Several vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes in front of Mechanics Bank when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The involved vehicles sustained severe damages as a result of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries in the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the collision, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in front of the bank. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
