Carthage, MS (April 17, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a serious car accident that took place on a major highway in Carthage on Friday, April 15.
According to Carthage Police, the accident happened around 9:15 a.m. on MS-35 around the area of the Carthage Junction gas station. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to collide with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result of the collision.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Multiple victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were hospitalized but their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked almost entirely in front of the gas station for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident continues.
