Carthage, MS (April 18, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a serious car accident that took place on a major roadway in Carthage on Monday morning, April 18.
According to Leake County deputies, the accident happened on the Natchez Trace Parkway around the area of Red Dog Road. A driver was traveling in the area when they suddenly lost control of their vehicle, causing it to strike a tree that was in the middle of the road. The vehicle sustained severe damage as a result of the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. Three people inside the vehicle, who have not yet been identified, were injured in the collision. The parties have since been hospitalized.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
