Oxford, MS (April 19, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a car accident that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Tuesday afternoon, April 19.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident happened around 2:50 p.m. on University Avenue. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when one lost control, causing the vehicles to collide with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could resume as normal.
