Oxford, MS (May 1, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a serious car accident that took place on a roadway in Oxford in front of a restaurant on Saturday night, April 30.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident happened at 11:45 p.m. at 1518 Jackson Avenue. Several vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes of traffic in front of the El Mariachi restaurant when they forcefully collided with each other. The involved vehicles were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were seriously injured as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could resume as normal.
