Vicksburg, MS (May 2, 2022) – Around 10 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, a hit-and-run crash with injuries took place at an intersection in Vicksburg.
According to Vicksburg Police, the accident happened at the intersection of MS-61 and Cain Ridge Road. A driver spoke with police and said that they were traveling in the area of the intersection when they were suddenly run off the road by another vehicle. The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. An ambulance was spotted at the scene and paramedics were caring for injured victims. They were rushed to local hospitals for treatment.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police urged those in the area to use caution until the scene was cleared.
No further details have been released. Police have not said if they have found the driver responsible for the accident as of yet. Their investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
