Biloxi, MS (May 2, 2022) – On Friday night, April 29, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place at an intersection in Biloxi. He has since been identified by police.
According to Biloxi Police, the accident happened around 10:20 p.m. at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Bellman Street. Police confirmed that a man and his wife were crossing the street at the intersection when they were struck by a vehicle traveling through the area. The driver of the vehicle stopped and remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The make pedestrian, identified as 63-year-old John Mahoney, was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead due to their injuries. It is not known if the wife was injured.
The roadway was blocked following the collision for an extended period of time. It is not known if the driver involved in the accident was charged for their role.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
