Vicksburg, MS (May 3, 2022) – One person was injured in a car accident that took place on a Vicksburg highway on Monday morning, May 2.
According to Vicksburg Police, the accident happened around 8:04 a.m. on I-20 near the ramp for Indiana Avenue and the local Circle K. It is believed that two or more vehicles collided with each other on the highway due to reasons that are still under investigation. One of the vehicles was identified as a silver sedan, which sustained severe damages in the accident.
Several Vicksburg responders, including fire crews and paramedics, were called to the scene to help those in need. One person sustained injuries in the collision, though their identity is not yet known. The party was rushed to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Police blocked off a large portion of the roadway following the collision. They urged those in the area to slow down and expect delays for several hours as first responders worked the scene.
Police continue their investigation into the accident at this time.
