Vicksburg, MS (May 5, 2022) – Three people sustained injuries in a two-vehicle collision at a Vicksburg intersection on Wednesday evening, May 4.
Vicksburg Police responded to the scene around 5:45 p.m. after multiple calls regarding a collision at the intersection of Indiana Avenue and Confederate Avenue. They found through their preliminary investigation that a red sedan and a dark-colored sedan entered the intersection at the same time as each other. This caused the vehicles to collide head-on into each other, sustaining heavy damage.
Various ambulance crews and fire crews were dispatched to the scene to assist those inside the involved vehicles. A total of three people throughout the vehicles sustained injuries in the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals, though their conditions are not yet known.
Traffic continued throughout the intersection for a period of time after the collision. However, police were seen rerouting traffic past the exits in the area.
No further details have been released. Vicksburg Police continue their investigation into the accident at this time.
