Oxford, MS (May 6, 2022) – Injuries were reported following a car accident that took place on a major Oxford roadway on Thursday night, May 5.
Oxford Police Department officials confirmed that the accident took place around 9:45 p.m. at 1736 University Avenue in front of the local Taco Bell. It is believed that two vehicles were traveling in the area when they both collided due to unknown reasons. The involved vehicles sustained heavy damaged and were removed from the scene by tow trucks.
Oxford fire crews and paramedics were called to the scene to help those in need. At least one person involved in the accident was hurt as a result. The party was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The police blocked off the area for an extended period of time following the collision.
Oxford Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
