Vicksburg, MS (May 11, 2022) – Around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, one person was hurt in a car accident that took place on a roadway in Vicksburg.
Just after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Vicksburg Police were prompted to the scene of an accident on South Frontage Road near the area of the Candlewood Suites. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. Police confirmed that several vehicles had to be removed from the scene by tow trucks.
First responders, including Vicksburg Fire and paramedics, were dispatched to the scene of the collision to help. One individual, who has not yet been identified, was injured in the accident. The party sustained a neck injury and was taken to the hospital for treatment. It is not believed that any other parties were hurt in the accident.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked in several lanes of traffic for some time. Drivers were urged to use caution when driving in the area.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing by Vicksburg Police.
