Tupelo, MS (May 13, 2022) – An automobile accident involving injuries occurred at a junction in Tupelo on Friday afternoon, May 13.
The crash occurred at the crossroads of the I-20 ramp to Mississippi State 145 and 22nd Avenue in Lauderdale County, according to Tupelo officials. Two or more automobiles were going in the vicinity at the same time as they entered the westbound off-ramp, causing them to collide violently. The crash caused significant damage to the automobiles involved.
Several responders were called to the area, including paramedics and fire services, to assist people in need. As a result of the collision, one or more individuals were injured. The wounded individuals were sent to local hospitals for treatment.
As police tried to clear the area, the route was closed for a long time at the crossroads.
