Oxford, MS (May 16, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car accident that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Sunday afternoon, May 16.
According to Oxford Police, the accident happened at around 3:35 p.m. at 119 Courthouse Square in front of Neilson’s. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result of the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hurt as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time following the crash. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could return to normal.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
